What is a good irish/ gaelic name for a beagle puppy?

I've always called one or other of my dogs "Bran". Most people in Ireland have heard something or other about the legendary hero Fionn Mac Cumhail (Finn McCool), and his love of dogs. He is thought to have lived about 2,000 years ago. He had three hundred dogs and his favourite was Bran who was really cool. He broke Fionn's heart when he died.

You'll find a good synopsis of Fionn and Bran on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fionn

There's one of the stories about Fionn and Bran here:

The name Bran was also used throughout Celtic mythology - it was the name for an Ulster hero and even changed gender for a Welsh goddess!

Fionn's next favourite dog was Sceolaing (pronounced like "Shkewlang"), but there's nothing much written about it.
