What is the name of an Irish story about a swan family that the reader thinks are human that kill their son?

What is the name an author of an Irish short story where a man goes for a walk everyday an observes his neighbors. You think they are human and they have a family and end up killing the son. At the end the reader discovers the narrator is talking about swans not humans. I want to get a copy for a friend for Christmas. Do you know if it is available in book form and if so where?

Maybe it's "The Children of Lir", which is an old Irish legend. Here's a link to a synopsis of the story at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of...
Reply:am i think you could be talking about the "children of lir" except it was their stepmother who turned them into swans and made them spend 900hundred years on 3 different lakes and they were changed back to humans by st. patrick but they were very old an died.
Reply:Try the Oxford Book of Short Stories by William Trevor. But if you want an entire list of Irish Short Stories go to Amazon.com.
