Here are a few ideas:
Fiona O' Gallagher
Caitlin O' Gallagher
Elizabeth O' Gallagher
Murphy O' Gallagher
Ciana O' Gallagher
Allison O' Gallagher
Isabel O' Gallagher
Annabel O' Gallagher
Which do you like? I'm also open to new suggestions, must be somewhat Irish to follow family traditions. Do you know of any middle names that would fit? Thanks in advance!
Which Irish girls name would go well with the last name O' Gallagher?
Murphy is such an awesome name for a girl! I would use that for a middle name, since it might be too much for her growing up. My favorite first names from that list are Annabel, Elizabeth, and Fiona. But if you were going for something really Irish, Elizabeth has probably morphed into something too general. The same kind of goes for Annabel.
What about these Irish names (at least, I think they're Irish) : Fionnula Murphy, Ainsley Fiona, Ailene Elizabeth, Kiera Murphy, Deirdre Murphy, Eilis Fionnula, Ailbe Eileen, Aoife Ciana, Brenna Maeve, Catriona Murphy, Clodagh Annabel, Keela Murphy, Niamh Fionnoula, Regan Annabel, Teagan Aislinn, Saoirse Annabel, Kiera Isolde, Darcy Clare, etc.
My favorite Irish names are probably Saoirse, Ailene, and Catriona - along with Murphy and Annabel from your list.
Good luck!
Reply:I particularly like the names:
Saoirse Niamh O' Gallagher and
Isabel Darcy O' Gallagher
All the best with your decision!
Reply:I am partial to Irish names.... here are a few girls names that I like:
Amanda--lovable
Brenna---strong willed
Briana---virtuous, strong
Catherine---pure
Ciara--brunette
Emma---strong
Kate and Katelyn---pure-hearted
Reply:From your list I like Fiona O'Gallagher the best with Caitlin coming in at a close second. The popularity of Caitlin (with the various alternate spellings) has kind of turned me off of the name....at least for a little while, but it's still a fine name in the original form.
I also like (either for first or middle names)...
Meara
Niamh
Deirdre
Maebh
Good luck with your choices.
Reply:Mahogany Diamond Virtue Truth O' Gallagher
and
Mayberry Trancendent Rosaline O' Gallagher
Reply:Maybe Erin Elizabeth O'Gallagher?
Second choice would be Allison. Maybe Allison Elizabeth. I like the idea of having Elizabeth as a middle name, just because it goes with pretty much anything (including most last names that she might take when she gets married) and there are a lot of variations in case she decides she doesn't like her first name.
Reply:Fiona is my favorite listed, but you might also consider Fianna to avoid the similar repeated O sounds in Fiona O'Gallagher. The Fianna were Fionn's warriors, many of whom were strong, Celtic women (so an interesting historical link for a less common, but still familiar, choice). ;)
I'd personally use the actual Irish forms of Elizabeth/Isabel, if you really want the Irish link. Or even another Celtic version, such as Scottish, since that wouldn't be at all unusual.
- Eilis or its Anglicization Eilish (IE-lish or IE-leesh)
- Elspeth or Elspet
- Ealasaid
- Isobel, Isibeal, Iseabail or Ishbel
- Sibeal (shib-AYL) or its pet form Shibley
There are a few others, but you get the idea. You can find info on most of those -- and more -- here, if interested. http://www.behindthename.com/
You might also find this site very helpful. Great Irish names complete with meaning, historical/mythological associations and audible pronunciations, if needed. ;) http://www.babynamesofireland.com/
Hope that helps!
Reply:Annabel, Allison, Elizabeth Fiona, Caitlin all sound really nice with the last name.
Reply:My favorites are Caitlin, Elizabeth, Isabel, and Annabel (although I like the spelling of Annabelle more). I think my top favorite would have to be Elizabeth.
Here's a good website to help you find some good Irish names: http://www.babynamesofireland.com/pages/...

Reply:I really like:
Caitlin O'Gallagher (1)
Isabel O'Gallagher (2) And you could abbreviate it to BELLE how cute.
Elizabeth (3) You could abbreviate it to Liz or Beth
Fiona and Allison are tied for (4) You could abbreviate it to Alli
As for middle names why don't you just take one of the names on your list you like just as much and put it as a middle name?
EX. Caitlin Ciana O'Gallagher

Reply:Our of your names I like Caitlin best. Don't pick Murphy, it's a last name... and very unsuitable for a girl's first name.
Another idea that is very Irish sounding is Shannon Erin O'Gallagher
Reply:I like Fiona. That is actually what I would name a girl if I were to have another. We are leaning toward Scarlett Fiona. I also love the name Siobhan pronounced She vaun. But my husband hates it.
Reply:I think Fiona O'Gallagher sounds really nice.
