What do you think of this Irish Boy's Name?

What do you think of this Irish boy's name?

Caoimheán (keev een)

It means "Beautiful at birth". I adore it's meaning.

What do you think of this Irish Boy's Name?
I love the meaning but how its spelt can cause problems if you don't actually live in Ireland.

Maybe it can be spelt a different way?
Reply:The meaning is lovely and all but the actual name is horrible.
Reply:even if you live in ireland it can cause problems with spelling. its not very common in ireland either. well not in dublin really :)
Reply:I love the meaning and it sounds nice, but the way its spelled he's going to have a hard time in school and in life trying to get people to pronounce it correctly.
Reply:I personally love it! It's really different and unique. And the meaning is sweet. People might mix it up with Kevin, but I guess thats half the fun when they see how its really spelt.

Go with it! xD
Reply:I like it. It will take a while to remember how to spell it but it sounds really nice.
Reply:It is very different.I have never heard it before.I like it.
Reply:I adore the meaning too, this is going onto my list of favourite Irish boys names, 2nd below Liam x
Reply:It's the Irish equivilant of Kevin, and in Ireland it's not commonly used unless lads want to use their Irish name. And we pronounce it more like 'Quee-Veen'- If you sound it like Keev-een it's going to sound like Caoimbha, which is the female equivilant, so be careful.

It's a nice name, but may cause difficulty.
Reply:You know how much I love Irish names -- And I truly love this one!

Caoimheán is just lovely. The sound, classic spelling, the way is floats off of the tongue -- All wondrous. And a MUCH better alternative to the "similar-sounding but much worse" name, Kevin.

The meaning is lovely! Perfect for a child. It reminds me of a female French name, Aceline, which means "Noble at Birth".

Just as a thought: The name Paul Caoimheán sounds lovely :)

XOXO,

Em (that's my new sign-off for all my answers)
