Do people in Dublin call the drink an Irish car bomb by the name irish car bomb?
Oh I actually heard of that drink. I got it in Killarney. It is called that. But many bartenders have not heard of it.

They will do it for you if you explain and ask nice do.

It is about a 3/4 pint of Guinness or 陆 pint in pint glass. You then get a shot glass of baileys. Make sure it is a small shot glass. You hold the shot glass over the pint of Guinness. Then you drop the shot glass into the pint and drink it down the second it enters the glass. Make sure you do this because other wise it will curl if mixed with the Guinness. Do not drink one if you are on cider. You will puck straight away. It is really strong the first time you have it, so be warned.

If you are making it yourself make sure it is draught. Do not use stout bottles. I did this once with cans of stout and it all curled. I do not think this drink is so good for you. But each to their own I suppose. Pour baileys into some Guinness and I am sure you will see how disgusting this drink actually is.

Have fun

P.S Never heard of Jameson in it. There is whiskey in Baileys do

I suspect there is different varations of this drink do.

Person above is right it would be expensive. They would prob charge full pint that about 6euro and then five or six for the bailey shot. Could end up costing 11or 12 euros. Best to make them yourself before you go out.
Reply:I'm pretty sure we don't have it over here. I have never heard of it by name and looking at the ingredients, I have never seen any concoction like that on any shot/cocktail list of anywhere I have ever been. It sounds vile!

I had a look on the internet and the only names it appears to go by are 'Irish Carbomb' and 'Belfast Bomb'....

The best thing to do is look on the shot/cocktail list. If it isn't there, don't ask for it.
Reply:No that's an American bar thing. Just get a regular pint, and call it St Paddy's* or you will never hear the end of it.

*Americans don't generally say Paddy because Paddy was used as a slur at one point against Irish Americans, (along with M*ck) and Pat is a common Irish boys name in the US. So, St. Pat's for short. No one really uses Paddy in the US other than those just arrived from Ireland. Different country, different history and traditions.

That drink sounds disgusting by the way.
Reply:If you are going to ask for that drink in an Irish pub you just tell the barperson what the ingredients are - it would be grotesquely insensitive %26amp; tasteless to ask for an 'Irish Car Bomb' in either the Republic of Ireland, the UK or Northern Ireland and possibly highly inflammatory.
Reply:For your information, those of us who were born and reared in Ireland refer to the day as Paddy's Day, Patty's seems to be an Americanism that was created through American pronunciation of letters d and t.

An Irish car bomb? I've never heard of this drink. But I'm sure someone will make it for you. If you're buying it in Dublin, bring PLENTY of money. That sounds like it could be very expensive here.

Have a nice Paddy's weekend in Dublin, it should be good fun.
Reply:No, we don't, (not very PC all things considered).

However, I met some Americans in a pub a few months back who were trying to introduce this drink to me, but Baileys makes Guinness split, so I didn't' take up their offer.

When you're in Dublin call Patties St Paddys day, that way you'll fit in with the locals.
Reply:doubt it im sure it was a drink created here in the U,S you know we are all alcoholics lol and that is my favorite shot they call it irish car bomb because it has jameson's irish whiskey in it and guiness
Reply:Yes, if you ask for one they will know it. Cost around 鈧?
Reply:no but im sure someone will make it for you! have a good paDDys day!!!:)
Reply:nope
